Belgian beef stew with beer.
Ingredients (for 2 servings):
3 slices of bacon (chop finely)
300 g beef (cut into small pieces)
2 onions
300 g mushrooms
2 garlic cloves (minced)
3 tablespoons of flour
1 bottle of beer
2 carrots (dice)
100 g parsnips
200 g broth
2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1/2 teaspoon cumin (seeds)
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1 bay leaf
Directions
- 1. Fry the bacon in a frying pan, when crisp and browned take it out and set aside. Then fry the beef. Also set aside. Fry the onions already in the pan, add the mushrooms and garlic, cook for a few minutes. Add the flour, stir and cook for another 2 minutes. Pour in the beer, stir. Add bacon, beef, carrots, broth and remaining ingredients; bring to a boil. Cover, reduce heat and cook over low heat until tender, about 2 hours. Help yourself to a dish!
